PR Stunt Watch: DI PETSA milks it, KFC loses it and Tesco tips its billboard into an Uber Eats bag

We are officially on the home run to Christmas, lads and ladies.

Mariah is selling Christmas concert tickets. TikTok is feeding me B&M Christmas decor that I don’t need – but will get anyway. And someone reminded me we are less than 100 days away from the big C word... I’m not sure if they were talking about me or the festive season.

With such a festive period coming up – Halloween, pumpkin spice and everything else – I’m looking forward to seeing what agencies have cooking, which leads me to this week, where I’ve been bowled over by food. Lots of it, in very mysterious ways. SO, let's get stuck in.

Di Petsa – Holy Milk

Fashion Week is the one time of the year when you can do something completely outrageous, and people will call it art – unless you are the orange one in the White House; then you can do what you please all the time!

Trump aside, back to fashion and DI PETSA knows this better than most. It made its name with those wet look dresses, and for its SS27 show, decided they weren’t wet enough.

Out came Leigh-Anne Pinnock, gorgeously pregnant, with models gathered at her feet. She looked like a goddess – a true MUVA moment. Then her bra started shooting fountains of milk.

I’m sorry, what?

Gobbed is not even the word. It was wild; she looked stunning, and everyone was talking about it. How she kept a straight face while milk was flying out of her boobs, I do not know. Although if I were one of the models at her feet, I’d be PISSED. Imagine turning up to Fashion Week and leaving smelling like room-temp milk.

KFC x Surreal - KFCereal

KFC is on a generational run at the moment. Every time I think they might give it a rest, they come back with something else. This week: KFCereal, in collaboration with Surreal. Chicken-flavoured cereal that you’re meant to eat with gravy.

Now, I love a girl dinner. Dry cereal straight from the box is a regular feature in mine. But do I want it to taste like chicken? No… welllll maybe. But the gravy instead of milk is where you’ve completely lost me.

That said, as a stunt? Wicked.

It sounds gross enough that you have to tell someone about it, and weird enough that part of you wants to try it just to confirm it’s gross. I won’t be having a bowl, but KFC, please keep them coming... or clucking.

Tesco x Uber Eats

I love when brands collab, and I especially love when we as PRs are proven wrong.

How many times have we said you can’t PR an ad? Then, Tesco and Uber Eats go and make a billboard where the Tesco shop looks like it’s tipping straight into a giant Uber Eats bag. Annoyingly for my argument, it’s brilliant.

It takes about a second to get. It’s fun to look at. The LinkedIn lads have gone mad for it. I have, too, to be fair. Smart, simple, fun. What’s not to like?

Special mention: Bonnie Blue

Special mention goes to Bonnie Blue for auctioning off the name of her baby.

I think she sucks – as a person, figuratively, not actu… you know what, let me stop there.

She knows exactly how to get attention, even if I despise how she does it. I saw the story, rolled my eyes, clicked on it anyway, and now I’m writing about it here. That is probably exactly what she wanted.

There’s a market for everything, apparently. I just wish a baby’s name wasn’t one of those things.
