The Romans creative for Gousto’s charity effort champions dedication

The Romans' creative for Gousto’s new limited-edition recipe range, ‘The Bare’, recreates fan-favorite dishes while supporting Trussell’s homelessness efforts.
Inspired by the Chicago-based TV show 'The Bear' (returning for its fourth season in July 2025), proceeds from the range will fund Trussell’s efforts to help UK families facing severe hardship.
The film was captured by FEED and Director Dan Ruttley, with photography taken by Serpell-Rand Photography.
Trussell’s 'The Cost of Hardship & Hunger' report notes that one in seven people, including 6.3 million adults and 3 million children, are in crisis.
Trussell expects to provide emergency food to a child every 41 seconds this summer.
The range includes three 'The Bear' inspired recipes: ''Chicago-Style Beef Sandwich & Fries'', ''Friends & Family Spaghetti with Mozzarella Garlic Bread'', and the viral ''Crisp-Topped Omelette with Fries & Salad''. Each comes with pre-measured ingredients and simple recipe cards for ‘stress-free’ cooking.
Dan Roberts, creative director at The Romans, said: “The best ideas don’t just entertain, they feed real change. Turning this year’s most anticipated streaming release into The Bare with Gousto has been a dream brief: sharp, timely, and genuinely meaningful. It’s rare to see an idea make it from pitch to plate unchanged and rarer still with this level of creative bravery and purpose. Credit to Gousto for backing it all the way, and to Trussell for believing in us and our continued relationship as well as the vital work they do. This is what happens when brand, belief, and bold ideas collide.”
Timo Boldt, Gousto’s founder and CEO, said: “Our mission is to ensure more families enjoy fresh, quality food. With ‘The Bare’, we’re bringing iconic dishes to home kitchens while aiding Trussell’s vital food bank work.”
Our take
The Romans' campaign for this worthy initiative is notable because it puts dedication at the core of the story, showing that everyone’s culinary experience is worth the effort.
The film contrasts this attention to detail with a more human side of the chef character, played by British rapper and TV personality, Big Zuu, who takes on the role of ‘head chef’ in a launch film evocative of a fast-paced professional kitchen working to fulfil orders and raise important funds.
