Trainline jokes about saving on mosquito repellent instead of train tickets

Trainline, the European train and bus ticketing app, has announced its new summer advertising campaign for the Spanish market.

Created with DUDE, Trainline's ad highlights how using its app saves money so you can spend on more important items like mosquito repellent or sun cream. This is the first advertisement that the company has developed specifically for the Spanish market.

The spot tells the story of Michael, who decides to make his own mosquito repellent in an attempt to save money on holiday. This annual summer fight against mosquitoes comically illustrates that there is a better way to save money this summer: booking train tickets with Trainline.

Harry Marino, creative at DUDE says: "We had a lot of fun writing and shooting this film. When the brand message is so simple, we did not want to complicate it too much. We all know someone like Michael, who gets you into sticky situations when it comes to saving money. We wanted to bring this idea to life in an exaggerated and fun way, using mosquitoes as antagonists to create a fun and up-close story. We're very happy with the result."
